Goodbye

I'm now in the Ox after two weeks of what I would consider pure bliss. Where the only questions on my mind were related to hygiene and keeping my tummy filled.

But all that have passed now.

I foolishly decided to return to the land of NERDS hoping to get some work done. I thought having no one around would be a good thing. I would be able to concentrate on work without any distractions. But being alone is damn creepy lah! And lonely..

I dunno why but I've been feeling gloomy ever since returning. Maybe it is because I know the only kind of social contact I will have is through the computer! :/

Anyway, this is gonna be my last post. I am declaring the abandonment of my blog. Blogging is really geeky. And I am already so geeky. I don't want to reduce my 'coolness count'.

So there. It is done. I might return to blogging when I've increased my 'coolness count' and when I have got some coolios to spare. But til then, I bid farewell..

Thanks for reading my blog KT, CW, Cheesetal, Dimi, Sien, Barbara, Gingy, Sheen, samleawts, Jenny, Marco, Cosmo, LSL, Khairil, Joanna, Anonymous (lol), and my most favourite reader of all, MOM!

Blog Shmog

I have been away for so long, busy with OxFATT and being popular, that I have neglected this blog for a good whole month. Yay me!

But alas, the time has come to retreat to the unusual practice of informing the whole world about one's life. No true asian can escape this.

So plenty of things have happened. To blog about everything would take me hours and no one has that kind of time to spare. Maybe hardcore bloggers who devote their lives to making money from their blogs lah........ Damn sad.

Okay so anyway. I am digressing. So, I am not gonna blog about everything. Just two major events that were really good fun.

1. The Murder Mystery Dinner Party

I have to be honest, I have never in my life thought anyone would take the time and effort to organize an event like the murder mystery party. The person writing it also has to be incredibly intelligent lah. Must weave the plot so that everything intertwines without exposing the murderer. But OxFATT wert! :P

Danny and Ryan were this person. They did an excellent job! It was a very fun evening!

Obligatory photos from the night:

(L-R) Cosmo as -superlongname- or Hargreaves Messingbird for short, Marco as Llyellen (I couldn't pronounce half the names there), and Nicola as Kitty Lafayette.

(L-R) Ju as Sam Chang (I was the only asian character that night.hmmm), Esther as Countess Constance, Edison as Henry Worcester, Ryan as the butler.

Group Shot with everyone in character:
(L-R top row) Me, Cosmo, Marco, Edison, Danny, Ryan
(L-R bottom row) Rosemary, Esther, Helen, Becky, Nicola

2. Dublin & Galway, Ireland
(I'll write a separate post on this. A picture post. Because we took a helluva lot of pictures! 500 photos in 3 days! Yes we were THAT group of asians you saw in the background snapping at every opportunity)

She has no right!

Taylor Swift has no right to sing about love and boys and how she can't get any! She is so hot, she can get anyone or anything she wants. If she is finding it so difficult, I WILL DATE HER LAH

On a lighter note, I went to the museum the other day. I wanted to take lotsa pictures but after the whole photo frenzy I had when it snowed the other day, I decided being a tourist was just so uncool. I'm over that now.............
..........
........
......
....
Okay I lied. I did take pictures. But I did it discreetly. The tourist in me was dying to get out. But at least, by doing it discreetly, I am one step closer to being a little bit cooler.

So right, I took 2 pictures! 2 measly pictures...

One of a snake

And another of these dinosaur things.

I thought they were pretty boring but what I did find amusing was..........

the vulgar ginger AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

I have such poor taste in...... things in general

Vday <3<3

I am tucked under my duvet right now and the clock just struck 12. It is officially Valentine's day. I have to admit that I am not one who submits to the formalities of this over-rated occasion because it is just plain unnecessary (I sound like a bitter old man who isn't getting any.lol).............and because I don't have anyone to do it to.lol (mainly the latter)

Anyway, I was thinking about how high school was a constant popularity contest and needless to say, I never really climbed the social hierarchy with my geeky antics T_T. But yeah, high school being a popularity contest, always had the popular kids get gifts for Valentine's, and I would always be a little bit jealous (even though the majority receiving gifts were girls.lol). And the unwritten rule was/is, the more presents you get, the more popular you are (which makes sense lah but whatever).

And I would always look forward to Valentine's day hoping maybe, just maybe someone in the school had the hots for me and my books. Alas, reality hit me hard every Valentine's and I would secretly go home disappointed.

But then, one year, in high school, I met a girl who I thought was very nice (I still think she is) and I thought maybe I might like her. And so on Valentine's day I got her a test tube of glow-in-the-dark stars (challenge my geekiness+sweetness I dare you!). The first ever Valentine gift I ever gave to anyone. It was quite embarrassing because I tagged my name on the test tube and we didn't even know each other very well. She must have been quite freaked out, but I guess we did talk a little bit more after that, did text a little bit more and then *bang* she told me she didn't like me. Looking back, I think it was quite funny actually.HAHAHA

Well, I haven't had much luck with love despite having a few admirers here and there. (you know lah..With my dashing smile and everything, how can anyone resist) But I never found someone I could really click with in high school. And then later in life, I started coming into my own and I started to like a couple of girls here and there (BTW I know there is a huge possibility that these girls I am talking about, are actually reading this. But I just want to show that I am totally comfortable with my past. No reason not to be actually.). And I am sure (although I cannot be 100% sure) that they liked me too and that's not me being full of myself or whatever alright. I am just being totally honest. But anyway, it didn't work out with a few(actually only one lol) just because I thought we were so different, there would be no way it would be a long term thing.

And that's when I met this girl. She was perfect! She was like a mirror image of me (ie perfect). Hardworking, not ugly, obedient  bla bla bla. And then we hit off and then it ended quite ugly. But I guess I have no regrets. It was fun for a while. But I am glad it ended, mainly because I wasn't happy bla bla bla............ Actually these stories are just random thoughts I am having thinking about Valentine's day. There is no point to them.

Oh wait actually there is! It is to illustrate that I really do not have any luck with love. And as much as I would like to stay single for the rest of my life, I don't think I can cope with watching my friends get partners and then get married and then have children and then grandchildren and then great grandchildren, while all I have is myself T____T

I have really random thoughts like that and then I get very worried and start counting the number of single friends I have. And every time I count, the number gets smaller and smaller!!

I am bloody 20 already. Shouldn't I have someone? Pfft.
Vday isn't any different from any other day to me. That's quite sad lor but also quite good. No need to spend money on flowers and I can have all the chocolates to myself. Mmmm chocolates..

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Actually I really don't care. I love my life the way it is! When it happens, it will happen (if it happens.lol). HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, PEOPLE OF THE WORLD!! (especially Dimishtra :P)

An abrupt end to my love affair with snow.

It snowed even heavier last night. (it is snowing right now also T_T)

I looked out my window and all I could think of was the slight possibility that I may not be able to go to London for the weekend and so I ended up wishing for the snow to go away. I actually sang  'snow snow go away come again another day'. At that point, I realized I had gone nuts. Damn you Oxford!

Anyway the main reason why I hate snow is because the roads get all slushy and atrociously disgusting when the snow melts. I mean it would be okay if I could stay in my room all day but I had to cycle to lectures this morning which was so gross because the melted snow which actually looks like grime splattered all over me and my new hoodie T_T

nice and clean new hoodie. Not anymore! :(  (if you think this was just an excuse to put up a picture of myself, SO WHAT? WHAT'S IT TO YOU?....... HAHA So ganas.)

Anyway, here are some pictures. People were staring at me when I took pictures but I have learnt to develop a thick skin when taking photos. One step closer to being a true blogger. Yay (not). (quite frankly, I don't know how bloggers can actually not feel embarrassed when taking pictures of food or whatever in public! Some have big ass cameras also. I will feel very malu lor but that's just me)

I had to cycle in that! GRRR

But I guess I did have a lot of fun playing in the snow with other Malaysians today. But I still hate snow. Anyway check out this snow tranny/ snow butch lady!

(sorry it isn't the right way around. I lazy to rotate. But notice how her boobs are asymmetrical.lol)

Okay some more pictures of the snow celebration this morning.

Jon, Wan Zhen, Jances, Kevin.

4/3  π r^3  Don't you wanna be my friend now :)

I was rolling that snowball in the previous picture to make the body of this snowman; the ugliest snowman in history.

But when it seemed as though all hope was lost in making a nice snowman, we sculped a little bit here and there and TADA it is a snow Buddha with a tudung! ( There are better pictures of him where the scarf was used as a sash but I don't have them atm. Sorry)

The tree-hugging snowman!

And I thought my skin looks damn clear here so I put up. LOL

There are many more pictures lah. You know us Asians right. But I don't have them at the moment. Must wait for them to be posted up on Facebook. Okay that's it. And I win for writing two consecutive blog posts on snow (as you can see I'm running dry on inspiration).

I'll put up more photos when I get 'em.

Monday, February 2, 2009

-EDIT- If you have an Asian friend in England, this would probably not be the first blog post you have read about snow.

It snowed in Oxford (and the rest of England), as if the title of this blog post did not already give it away. And boy was it pretty!

It was 11.23pm (I made that up) as I was doing a little bit of work, when Esther shouted from inside her room to tell me it was snowing. I jumped outta my chair and opened my curtains and bloody hell, XIAXUE! (multilingual pun. :D)

So I grabbed my camera and like a sakai, ran outta my flat dragging Esther along just so we could take pictures. To be honest, I think a small part of my life was completed last night because the snow was honestly so amazing, my dreams of how snow was had nothing on last night's snow. And it wasn't like a blizzard either like in London (:P). It came down heavily but slowly. Reminiscent of Hollywood snow. (I am such a twat. haha. Soz 118A)

So anyway, I took loads of pictures but I am only gonna post a few up here because it is taking ages to upload them pictures. Grrr

I was genuinely happy for the first time in a long time. (slight exaggeration)

Rob's snow angel. I wanted to do also but I scared dirty.lol

So, after 5 minutes a good number of Jesubites came down and we started having a snowball fight!

It was a lot more exciting than this picture depicts.

Major casualty- Noreen.

Rosemary!!

JEEEEEEESUUUUUUS

We had so much fun until the caretaker spoilt it for us. He was quite horrid.

Anyway after that, Elen, Tom and Ed decided to go to Port Meadow (it was midnight) and I tagged along. It was such a nice walk too and despite having so little clothes on I did not feel cold. I kinda refused to because it was too exciting!

Me, Ed and Tom.

Ed, Tom and Elen.

And we saw a crazy cyclist. Who cycles around an empty meadow at 1am? It was quite scary because you could imagine the next morning's paper headlines reading "4 killed and thrown into the river by bonkers cyclist at midnig............ Err, sorry.

So after all that, Edison told me to savour the snow as it would be gone the next day so I made sure I did but the only thing I did not manage to do was build a snowman. We were in the process of making one too when the caretaker scolded us >:/ It was quite upsetting but............

.....on the next morning, the first thing I did was open up my curtains to see if the snow was there and  it still was! Yay.

So I went for lectures and wanted to take a really nice picture of Oxford covered in snow from the 8th floor of the engineering building and so I did. I have no shame.

So nice right! Haih.

And after that I went around town and took pictures like a tourist. Actually thinking about it I am quite embarrassed for being so sakai.

The Sheldonian Theatre.

My college :)

1st Quad of Jesus :)

And then to cap off my snow escapades, Jenny and I built a snowman and snowwoman. It was so exciting. My first ever snowman! It was really very fun.

I look pleased :)

Jenny-oooppa-bauhn-theorum-Owen

I wanna get a hat like that. It is sooo cool :(

In case, you are wondering what I am doing, I am putting my arms around their shoulders.

YAY! I think I shall call them Montgomery and Elise. Hokay Jenny?

And so ends my eventful day with snow.

-EDIT- Montgomery and Elise are dead. Montgomery died last night during a brutal snowball fight. (His head and body were used as snowballs. The horror!). Elise was found decapitated and I was almost going to take a picture but I was overcome with emotion and fainted (not really).
They will be greatly missed.

CNY 118A OX

Having received the pictures of the food I had with my friends from London for Chinese New Year dinner, I have decided to make your mouths water by posting up...........................the EXACT SAME pictures from Brian's blog. Yay. (They were the only pictures taken that night)

Yee Sang. My first ever. Don't judge me.

Siew Yoke is in my 'food that makes me happy' group.

Roast Duck also.

Chicken (rice)

Pan-fried salmon.

It doesn't look very much here but it really was a whole pile of cabbage. We need our veges after all.

And lastly, this is my Lion Head Meatballs which were quite nice loh. Dunno why they didn't say it was nice. They just ate and went 'mm ok quite nice'    T_____T

*salivate now*

them people.

I know right, I am such a blogger now. Got pictures of food and have been updating so frequently. And I think I have more to blog about seeing as ;
1. I have proven a very prominent theory wrong (that for another day)
2. I am going to watch the AUSTRALIAN OPEN FINAL at Jances' place (all you big-mouthed Federer fans make me sick to my stomach) tomorrow
3. I will be going for this black tie event later at night.

So I reckon I will blog about all that.(best news in the world innit)

Anyway, someone said a really mean thing to me earlier which I thought was very unnecessary. It kinda got me a little down but.... whatever

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Sorry about the previous post. I was quite annoyed with people. In fact I still am but it is just the way it is. People are pretentious and superficial and will take advantage of you at the first opportunity. But it is just the way it is.

Anyway, some happy news.

1. I did really well for my Collections and am very pleased.
2. Australian Open finals this weekend! And I might actually be able to WATCH IT ON THE TELE with Jances Pang and her Bruneian friend!
3. I have been very healthy lately with my choice of food and sleeping habits.
4. I am on top of work! WOO!
5. My PSP is working again!

And some depressing news.

1. I have labs tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it.
2. Being treasurer of a club without having any access to the accounts has been a pain in the backside. I couldn't be bothered anymore tbh.
3. My PSP has been a major distraction.
4. I wanted to go down to London but decided not to for very sensitive reasons.

Okay so my depressing news isn't exactly the most traumatizing. But whatever.

Anyway, I also wanted to ask if you guys have listened to Britney Spears' (not every guy who listens to her music is gay) new single 'If U Seek Amy'?

It is really quite clever but it makes me wonder what level music has stooped down to.

Erm also another thing, GONG HEI FATT CHOI!

And another, I saw a real apple tree.........
(Apples on the tree)

(Apples under the tree)

.........in Warwick last year. Yeah very outdated. Anyway it was very exciting.

Sorry this post isn't very interesting. What do you expect from someone like me? Booze, sex and drugs? I wish!(not really. Well maybe sex can be an exception but no I do not wish)

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

So what?

So what if you don't like me? Go suck an egg!
