I've turned 20! I feel empowered and so much wiser! (actually, not really)

Bye bye teenhood :(

Because I am a man of my words (and also because of the lack of pictures), this is going to be a wordy post (as promised in the last one).

Today (actually yesterday) was my 20th birthday. This was what happened in sequence.

15th Oct 2008 (the night before the big day!)

7.30pm : in Cafe Zouk for the Malaysia Club's first event this term; Freshers' Makan Malam.

11.30pm : was surprised by a birthday cake by my Malaysian friends. 'Twas very sweet (I made a pun! I is clever! Pun intended! Pun definitely intended. -_-")

12am: London friends from 118A Queensway (they refer to themselves as that.118A Queensway. It is the "in" thing now referring to yourself by location! That would make me, 17 Red Stevens (my place actually sounds like a brothel -_-"))  sang me happy birthday which was very nice of them.

11.13am: Woke up to lotsa text messages wishing me happy birthday. I love waking up to texts :) BUT I HAD TO DELETE ALL THE MESSAGES JUST NOW BECAUSE MY PHONE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY AND WAS ACTING UP          T_________T

11.15am: My flatmates, Edison and Esther made me longevity noodles with pork balls and mushrooms!(we are all chinese in ethnicity, but because we are from different parts of the world (Ed's a BBC (Bri-ish born chinese), Est's a kia..i mean singaporean and I'm Malaysian) we are very sensitive about the "who is more" chinese issue which results in us eating with chopsticks and cooking typical chinese food just to prove a point. Anyhoo, both of them apparently did not sleep the night before because they had to finish their essays which were due in the afternoon! But they still made an effort to make me a birthday brunch! :)

1.30pm: Lectures (suddenly it's not so exciting anymore huh)

 *5 hours later* (I hate lectures)

6.30pm: Engineering Society meeting (I am so dedicated I spent my birthday night at a meeting T___T)

8.32pm: Marco comes in to gimme chocolates. Mmmmm Aero :)

9pm: was surprised yet again, by my friends Rosemary, Cosmo and Danny who made me cookies and spelt my name on them and they even sang happy birthday to me too :')

11am: went on facebook. 75 new notifications. All birthday messages :)

Oh I got tennis balls and a card from Clare which was quite odd but very thoughtful. And a card from Jenny.

Actually nothing spectacular happened on my birthday but I really was touched by the many wishes and thoughtful gestures :) THANK YOU !

P.S.: I've been listening to Pachelbel's Canon and it is the most beautiful song I have ever heard until Esther came in and told me it was frequently used at weddings....sigh and it was going so well, me and Pachelbel (Imma poet and I don't even know it. (How original)).

P.P.S.: It is very sad how once you've turned 20, you grow sooo much older with every year. I mean next year I will be 21 and then 25 and then 50 T_____T

P.P.P.S. : I think my blog posts are special because I use so many brackets and brackets in brackets in brackets. (but you don't care, do you?....... I thought so.)
